Emily Obermeier promoted to Chief of Staff at Lincoln Savings Bank

Emily Obermeier has been promoted to Chief of Staff for Lincoln Savings Bank (LSB).  In 2020, Obermeier joined LSB as the Corporate Administration Officer where she provided support to the LSB CFO Emily Girsch and the Board of Directors. In late 2020 she began reporting to and supporting LSB CEO Erik Skovgard. This past November she was promoted to Chief of Staff and will be responsible for assisting the CEO in defining and implementing the strategic plan and growth initiatives for the organization, as well as handle Governance matters and act as recording secretary for the Board of Directors.

“Emily is a great fit for Chief of Staff and has quickly won the respect of our Executive Management Team”, says LSB CEO Erik Skovgard.  “Her legal training and natural drive enable her to add unique expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to understand strategic topics.  I view her as a trusted advisor.”

Obermeier, who grew up in Hampton, attended Ellsworth Community College where she earned an Associates degree. She then transferred to the University of Northern Iowa and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, then finished up at Creighton University where she received a Juris Doctor degree. During her college years she worked for two community banks where she learned the value of balance between focusing on the shareholder and the community.

She enjoys giving back to the community and has volunteered her time by serving as the official statistician for Cedar Falls High School and volunteering for various activities through LSB.  She also formerly served as a board member for TechWorks in downtown Waterloo.

Obermeier now resides in Cedar Falls with her husband and three children.  In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, traveling and gardening.
